Hello travellers!
It's been a while since our last journey. We hope you had enough time to relax, as today we are going to start a new adventure across Romania. Apart from all the nice natural landscapes this country has to offer, we are inviting you to pack your fanciest outfits, as today we are going to take the tour of the biggest Romanian music festivals.
If you are a festival lover, then you have already got some goosebumps at the thought of a festival. If you’re not, we hope that after this post you’ll consider becoming one! But one thing is certain: every single festival is special through the experience and sentiment that it gives to the music lovers.
Neversea
The first star of today’s post is Neversea – an EDM music festival which takes place for 4 days each year, around the first weekend of July, on Modern Beach in Constanta. What makes it truly special is the fact that it’s held on the beach, right next to the sea. This way, it provides a breathtaking scenery especially at sunrise and sunset. It brings together people from all over the world, who are looking for an unforgettable festival experienceNeversea offers a range of stages for different genres – from commercial, EDM, to trap, Drum n Bass – each designed in order to get you into the Neversea story. Through the famous names that performed on the stages we can name Armin van Buuren, Jessie J, Sean Paul, Steve Aoki, Lost Frequencies, Black Coffee, Delia, Inna, Dua Lipa, The Script and many others. Each year the line-up is different but as spectacular (or even more) than the previous one.
Of course, there are lots of bars around, where you can buy either soft drinks, cocktails or alcohol at attractive prices. They also sell all sorts of buckets that you can drink with your friends – or with strangers that eventually will become your friends. One soft drink is around 6 lei (€ 1,2), while a shot is 12 lei (€ 2,4) and cocktails start from 20 lei (€4). There is a designated food court area, which is full of restaurants selling different sorts of Romanian and international food (burgers, pasta, Mexican food, chicken, crepes and pancakes) at prices starting from €5.
Fashion and beauty lovers are not left out – there are plenty of clothing stores of both local and international brands, as well as Neversea merchandise stores, selling t-shirts, caps, flags and all kind of branded items. You can also find beauty workshops that make temporary tattoos, face make-up and paintings, and funky festival hairstyles – in case you party too late and don’t have time to properly prepare for the next festival day. The prices may vary depending on what you are looking for.
Within the actual pandemic context, the festival did not take place this year, but the organizers found a customer-friendly way and changed the passes from one year to anytime – having three year validity, so you can choose which year to use your ticket in, if you have already purchased one. There are several categories of tickets: day passes, full-time passes, or VIP passes, with variable prices, from €50 to €350.

The whole festival experience can’t be expressed into words, but we are going to leave a video here for you to watch and get the idea of what being a traveller to the “Island of Dreams” – as they like to name it – really is. This video is the festival aftermovie realised by Neversea:
This was everything from us for now, but don't worry, we are going to be back soon with part two, on the way to our next music festival. Until then, don't forget to follow us on instagram @travelteria and tell us - Where should we go next?
